A Treatment for the Breaking Bad remake by Kennard Johnson

Bowie, Maryland, Bowie State University – Warm fall day

DEXTER is an honors student at Bowie State University. His life consists of playing video games, doing homework and solving difficult math problems in his spare time. He doesn’t really have a social life outside of his two close friends PETER and JIMMY, whom also are honor students at Bowie.

There’s a bunch of beautiful girl’s that attend Bowie State but DEXTER had his eye on one particular girl, JESSICA BROWN. DEXTER was only a sophomore at the time and JESSICA is a junior. Because DEXTER didn’t have the best appearance, wearing big glasses, slacks up to his belly, pocket protectors, and a collared shirt tucked in his pants, the ladies on campus never looked his way or even knew he existed. JESSICA was a lightskin girl with long brown hair and brown eyes. Almost every dude on campus was after her but DEXTER wanted her to himself.

One day while having lunch with PETER and JIMMY, DEXTER asked what does other guys has that he doesn’t. Of course DEXTER thought because he was an intelligent guy, he believed that should be enough for ladies to love him. PETER told DEXTER it’s the way he dresses and carries himself is why girls never pay attention to him. JIMMY said girls are more into bad boys and DEXTER just isn’t cut out to be one.

Over the course of the next day DEXTER observed the way jocks and the “cool kids” carried themselves and how they talked to girls. DEXTER seen that they were able to get a girls number in no less than 5 minutes. DEXTER thought to himself that they had to be some type of mystical dating wizards from the world of the Ogarth Realm (Geek Terminology). DEXTER continued observing and writing down notes trying to decode how such acts were possible. After about 20 minutes he gained the courage to finally walk up to the cool kids and ask one of them, how do they work their magic and get girl’s phone numbers that easily. RELL, which happened to be his roommate replied, “It’s all about confidence. Relax and don’t try so hard or you’ll end up coming on to strong and scare the girl away.” RELL also gave advice on how to dress and how not to dress in order for females to like you more. He then said “Burn those slacks and those pocket protectors!”

Later that night DEXTER was staring at his closet trying to figure out what he could wear the next day to impress the girls and show him he’s cool and “in” with the cool crowd. RELL walked in and asked why DEXTER was standing there like a lost puppy. DEXTER replied “I’m trying to find a good outfit to wear tomorrow to give me enough confidence to impress JESSICA BROWN. There was an awkward silence for a second, and then RELL started bursting out with laughter. DEXTER asked “what’s so funny?” RELL replied “she’s the one that got you so amped up and ready to change your image?” DEXTER replied “yes, I believe we’re meant for each other!” RELL sat there in silence for a bit, then insisted on letting him help DEXTER find the right outfit.

The next day DEXTER was on his way to the cafeteria when he seen JESSICA walking by herself at a slow pace, slow enough for him to catch up. That presented the perfect opportunity to pursue the lady of his dreams. DEXTER walked up to JESSICA and said “Hey. How are you?” JESSICA replied “Hey, who are you?” stunned by her answering his with a question DEXTER stuttered and replied “DEXTER, I’m new here. Do you mind showing me around?” JESSICA replied “I have class in 30 minutes but I can show you around.” The two began walking around and talking, getting to know one another, laughing and joking. The 30 minutes were over and JESSICA had to walk to class, DEXTER insisted that he’d walk her. When they arrived at the building her class was in DEXTER asked for JESSICA’S number. She smiled and proceeded to type her number in his phone with a smiling emoji.

Over the next couple weeks DEXTER and JESSICA became good friends. On a cool fall Saturday afternoon, DEXTER was walking alongside PETE and JIM through a big crowd to a football game. When they got down to the field, DEXTER tried calling seeing where JESSICA was at, but she wasn’t answering his phone calls or texts. DEXTER began looking all around the stadium until he noticed JESSICA under the bleachers kissing another dude. The sight of it tore him apart and he stormed away from the field towards his dorm, eyes full of pain, heart full of hurt. RELL came in the room later on after the game and asked what was wrong. DEXTER said he seen JESSICA kissing another dude during the football game. RELL sat down and told DEXTER that JESSICA was a “player” and a “maneater” and that she was a “damaged chick that’s been hurt in the past by so many dudes, that she takes it out on everyone she meets.” RELL then went onto saying “She makes dudes fall in love with her then she rips their heads off!” RELL didn’t tell DEXTER because he didn’t want to crush his dreams because it seemed like he was really into JESSICA.

RELL told DEXTER “don’t put your ALL into any chick unless you’re positive she’s the real deal!” This experience battered DEXTER’S mind because he didn’t know women could be so cruel. From that day forward, DEXTER became a geek gone bad.
